Lane Change 101

Ok, so riddle me this; Why do you choose to change lanes by crossing over a solid line? Don't you realise that to do so is illegal? Stupid? Unnecessary? Gah!!!! You change lanes over a solid line and then don't even take the next exit. So your need to change lanes was, aside from being illegal, not even a fucking emergency? What the hell was that? Fucking idiot!
